Women, Please and Security Network - Canada (WPSN-C) is an organization that supports and monitors the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions on women, peace and security. They needed a bilingual logo and overall brand identity to represent a campaign for the consultation process on the next National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security in Canada. The name of the campaign is Dialogue.
Overview
Strategy
Since WPSN-C's target audience is women and they wanted to represent the woman of today, they chose to use fuchsia pink, which is a trending colour this year. Not only does it make them stand out from other organizations that are similar, but it is also memorable. The branding also needed to represent moving forward in the dialogue around women, peace and security.
Solution
We decided to use bold lettering for the project name and contrast it with a script font that flowed through the centre over the arrow that signifies moving forward. Since the logo needed to be in both English and French, the organization name was put at the top in english and the bottom in french so that it would be legible to both English and French speakers. For the project name (Dialogue) we decided to use an ombré of pinks to represent change occurring, though it may be slow, it is steadily being achieved. These elements put together created a bold, catchy brand that shows the importance of peace and security for women and shows the desire for continued progress in these crucial areas.
In addition to the branding, we also provided them with other branded assets such as a report template, social media post templates, a timeline of events, and an infographic.
